St Mawes Fish Festival
Welcome to the sixth St Mawes Fish Festival.
Every September the St Mawes Harbour hosts a bustling festival in celebration of the sea and all its wonderful seafood.
All are welcome to attend and enjoy a taste of Cornish cooking at its best thanks to local chefs including Paul Wadham from Hotel Tresanton, Steve Walsh from Idle Rocks and Simon Stallard from The Cornish Fishmonger.
Local fishermen will be selling their freshly landed catch from the stalls and since no festival is complete without music, the Du Hag Owr - 'Sea Shanty Singers' and Kernow Pipers will be keeping the party in tune. Looking for the Portscatho fish festival?
A variety of cooked Seafood will be available including Seafood Paella, BBQ'd fish fillets & Scallops. In addition Paul, Steve and Simon will be running cooking demonstrations and tastings throughout the day, accompanied by expert fishmongers on hand with tips for filleting and preparing the perfect fish. Master Chef Ann Long is dropping by at lunchtime to whip up a seafood special.
Entry to the festival is free and all proceeds from the fresh seafood sales, cooked seafood, fish fillets, scallops and the Festival Raffle are given to the RNLI, Fishermen’s Mission and other local organisations.
